Lose yourself in the music...
Find an Eminem song that you love, like, respect, or can tolerate and paste the lyrics into a GoogleDrive document. Using the comment and highlight features, mark-up the lyrics and call attention to things that seem "poetic" to you. This can be rhyming, repetition, alliteration, word play, puns, metaphor, etc. Call out at least five (5) poetic devices being used.

The CSW (GoogleDrive) (Due: 12/9)
For class on 12/4, watch the CSW video on the First Year Writing Program site:

On 12/4 , we will be meeting at the Student Center to explore the CSW's set up. We will be walking through and then talking for the rest of the "class period" about 121 and how the CSW fits into the schedule. Write a 450 word document talking about the CSW. Based on the video and your experience seeing the students set up, what do you think about the CSW? What are your worries and anxieties? What do you expect? Does this seem daunting or impossible? Are you excited?
Remember, for extra credit, you can attend the CSW at night and explore. Interview at least one student and take a picture of the exhibit (no, it's not weird) and write a 600 word reflection on your experience and what you learned about the CSW and the student's work. You do not need to transcribe the whole interview, but explain what you asked and what he/she said in return.
